Six die in house fire

Tragedy struck when six family members, including minor children, died in a fire that swept through their home in Mandela Drive in Ermelo shortly after midnight on Friday morning.

Members of Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue Services were called to the scene and managed control the blaze which had swept rapidly through the small home.

The occupants had unfortunately already succumbed in the blaze.

An official report on the exact cause of the fire has not yet been released but at this stage it is believed it could have been ignited when a blanket fell onto a  heater.

The names and ages of the deceased will be released once forensic investigations have been completed.
