Krielsaders overpower Ermelo Rugbyklub in away game

Despite Ermelo’s valiant defensive efforts, the pressure eventually mounted and became too much.

The Krielsaders’ first team remains unbeaten in the Mayors League after a decisive 24-15 victory over the Ermelo Rugby Club at Laerskool Ermelo this past weekend.

The game started disastrously for Ermelo when Diean Swart’s kick-off sailed directly into touch, heralding in a string of misfortunes for the home team that persisted throughout the match.

The Krielsaders were first to draw blood in the opening half. A missed tackle by Ermelo allowed Krielsaders’ Oz Moutloung an opportunity to break through and score under the posts, followed by a successful conversion by Monshe Lentoro.

Ermelo struggled with their lineouts, with the Krielsaders repeatedly stealing their throw-ins. Attempts at short throw-ins by Ermelo also proved ineffective. This added insult to injury, considering they struggled to make headway with their scrums as well.

With their set piece dominance, the Saders were poised to capitalise.

Despite Ermelo’s valiant defensive efforts, the pressure eventually mounted and became too much.

Supported by a spirited crowd predominantly from Kriel, the Krielsaders put together an onslaught in the final minutes to seal Ermelo’s fate.

This coming weekend Ermelo will be playing against Sasol 3 in an away game.
