VOC United hand Manzana FC their second loss of the season in what was a long week of soccer action

After the long week of soccer action, Manzana FC still top the log table, despite their second loss of the season and Ermelo United seem to going down to the bottom of the table.

The SAB Soccer League Gert Sibande Stream B matches took place at various stadiums around the region as Ermelo teams attempted to get out of the slump they are in.

A number of matches took place on Human Right’s Day on Thursday, 21 March, and it was derby day for locals as the four Ermelo teams went head-to-head at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Wesselton.

Mafia defeated VOC United in what was a hard-fought victory, the match ended 1-0.

Ermelo United were handed another defeat, a norm this season, at the hands of Sun City Gunners, who put three goals to Ermelo United’s one.

In other matches that took place during the public holiday, Breyten Homesweepers continued their winning run with high scoring results, beating Losta Stars 5-0.
Mpumalanga Eagles lost 3-0 to Shooters and Flymingo United won 4-2 against the Hammers.

Log leaders, Manzana FC, took away maximum points after defeating XI Experience 5-1, and Typhoon FC shared the spoils with Passion FC after a 1-1 draw.

The match between PR Barcelona and Blackstone was abandoned due to heavy rain after the two sides had two goals a piece.

More matches took place at the weekend of 23 March around the district.

Locals, VOC United, caused a major upset as they defeated the leaders, Manzana FC, with 4-0. This is the log leader’s second defeat in the season and could not cope with the locals’ attack.

The Sun City Gunners handed Mpumalanga Eagles a 5-2 defeat and Ermelo United once again succumbed to a drubbing, losing 8-0 to Typhoon FC.

Mafia also suffered a loss, this time at the hands of Flymingo United. The match ended 3-0.

In other matches, Blackstone won a scrappy 1-0 match against the Hammers, and Breyten Homesweepers were victorious over Carolina’s Passion FC.

Breyten United suffered a 5-0 loss at the hands of Shooters, and Losta Stars came to win 3-1 against XI Experience after thrashing during the week.

After the long week of soccer action, Manzana FC still top the log table, despite their second loss of the season, however, their lead has been narrowed down to 4 points.

Ermelo United languish at the bottom of the table with 10 points.
