VOC United and Mafia FC register wins in the SAB Soccer League Gert Sibande Stream B

After the weekend, Manzana FC top the table on 35 points, Breyten HomeSweepers follow on 28 points and VOC United round off the top three on 28 as well.

The SAB Soccer League Gert Sibande Stream B matches took place at various stadiums around the district on the weekend of 19 January.

The four local teams are still feeling the pressure after a horrible first half of the season and only VOC United is in the top half of the table in third position.

The high flyers kicked off the matches, playing against the Shooters FC at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium on Saturday, 19 January.

The VOC side are on a winning run and successfully bagged another win after defeating the Shooters 3-2.

The Mafia FC also represented Ermelo well, beating Typhoon 2-1 at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Wesselton on Sunday, 20 January.

Ermelo United finally registered a point on the table after sharing the spoils with Mpumalanga Eagles FC, who are now based in Davel. That match ended 1-1.

The Sun City Gunners faced log leaders Manzana FC on Sunday and felt the wrath of the Badplaas side, who have been undefeated this season.

Manzana put three past the Gunners goalkeeper to move seven points clear at the top of the table. The match ended 3-1 at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium on Sunday, 20 January.

In other matches, Flymingo United defeated defending champions, Somhlolo FC, 2-0 and XI Experience drew 1-1 against Blackstone.

Two matches featuring Breyten clubs, Breyten United vs Passion and Breyten Home Sweepers vs Hammers, were postponed due to the strike in Breyten and the PR Barcelona game against Losta Stars is still to be announced after the Barcelona team were injured in an accident the previous weekend.

After the weekend, Manzana top the table on 35 points, Breyten Home Sweepers follow on 28 points and VOC United round off the top three on 28 points as well.

On the opposite side of the table, Lostar Stars are in 18th position on 10 points, Suncity Gunners are in 19th position on six points and Ermelo United languish at the bottom of the table on four points.

The next round of matches will take place this coming weekend of 26 January.
