Goals galore in Gert Sibande District Netball League
After the weekend, the Sakhile netball team occupies the top spot in the A League.
Various netball teams from around the Gert Sibande District Municipality converged at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium netball courts on Saturday, 21 July to battle it out in the latest round of matches in the Gert Sibande Netball League.
A local team did not fare well in this round as the Func Netball Team succumbed to a 20-16 defeat at the hands of Standerton’s Sakhile Netball Team.
After the weekend, the Sakhile Netball Team occupies the top spot in the A League.
The Super Falcons team follows closely in second with the two Ermelo teams, the Blondies and Func fighting for the third spot.

In the B League standings, the Secunda Stars are at the top of the table while the Blondies B team and Standerton A and B teams are playing catch up and are on level points.
In the men’s league, the Juventus Males are at the top while the States Finest remain at the bottom.
The next round of matches will take place in August at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium netball courts as teams fight to be crowned the district champs.
