Gert Sibande Netball League commences
Teams from all over Gert Sibande District Municipality participate with games held at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium on weekends.
The Gert Sibande Netball League season kicked off on Saturday with teams from all over the district municipality participating in order to be crowned champions at the end of the season.
The day was filled with action, sprains, falls and balls with most teams hitting the ground running.
Reigning champions, Thundergirls, are one of the four teams from Msukaligwa Municipality with the Blondies, Func and Camden joining them to fly the local flag high.
The league, started in 2001 and then called the Highveld league, consists of three divisions, it being the A league, B league and male league.
After the first day of play, Sakhile N.C from Standerton top the A league, local team Blondies B top the B league and States Finest top the male league.
It promises to be an action packed season and all games will be played at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium on the weekend.
