News from the Blondies HQ

With the team's success of late, it came as no surprise when they were invited for an interview by a local radio station last week.

  • Ermelo’s netball team, the Supa Quick Blondies, was invited by the Mockingbirds from Witbank to participate in the Picnick Top 6 Netball Tournament last Saturday. The Blondies won two of their three matches but fell short in the final against the Mockingbirds and had to be content with second place.
  • Blondies player, Zodwa Kajeni, currently serving as president of Gert Sibande Netball, was selected to serve as Vice-president of Netball Mpumalanga. The Blondies are proud of Zodwa and honoured to have her as a member of their team.
  • With the team’s success of late it came as no surprise when they were invited for an interview by a local radio station last week. They took the opportunity to thank their sponsor for the support during the season.
  • On a lighter note, employees from Pick n Pay challenged the Blondies to a friendly game of netball.
    Although the Blondies won 39-5, the game was played in good spirit and new friendships were made.
    The player of the match was chosen from the losing team (PnP). Winnile Nzimande was the deserved winner, she played her heart out not once wanting to give up and it was all done with a broad smile on her face throughout the match.
  • This weekend the Blondies will travel to Piet Retief for their last two qualifying league games.
