Local business donates kit

Mr Malaza said the donation would go a long way to assisting the club’s 150 members.

The shortage of playing kit at the Wesselton Stars Football Club was one step closer to an end after the team received much needed kit from S&L Furniture.
The store’s general manager, Mr Pieter Bezuidenhout, told the Highvelder that they made the donation, as they believed that the coach, Dumisani Malaza, is doing a great job for the community by keeping kids on the sports field and away from negative activities.
Mr Malaza said the donation would go a long way to assisting the club’s 150 members.
The club consists of juniors and seniors from age group 13 to seniors.
The coach is also grateful to the parents who have supported the players financially whenever they played out of town.
The coach did, however, mention that due to the club’s numbers, they still needed more playing and training kit and transportation for games out of town.
Mr Bezuidenhout added that regardless of the current economic challenges, they could not ignore the need to assist the community that has also supported their business over the years. He also made a call on other businesses to support worthy causes.
