Social Development encourages sport

“We believe if we instil the culture of learning and responsibility through life skills in these kids at an early age."

The Department of Social Development in Ermelo is using sport to encourage life skills with the youth of Wesselton.

This is according to the Department’s Community Development Practitioner, Ms Ramatsobaneng Rapulane.

A soccer tournament sponsored by the Department of Social Development for players of 13 years and younger took place last Saturday at Thuthukani Sports ground where seven teams affiliated with the Msukaligwa Local Football Association battled it out for the first prize.

The day belonged to Wits Football Club from Wesselton, who were crowned the champions.

“We believe if we instil the culture of learning and responsibility through life skills in these kids at an early age, we will have responsible future adults,” said Ms Rapulane during a telephonic interview. MsukaligwaLocal Football Association also encourages teams with players of 13 to 15 years and under to register their teams.
