Carolina’s water woes ripple through community

Residents have recently expressed their growing frustration over the persistent water supply issues.

According to one resident, they are given excuses that constantly change, ranging from broken pipes and malfunctioning pumps to insufficient water levels.

Over the past month, they have reported ongoing disruptions and complained about the lack of water trucks which are meant to ensure that residents have access to water.

Furthermore, they say the municipality does not allow them to have their JoJo tanks refilled, leaving them without water.

Residents are also unhappy about apparently being billed for water during periods when nothing was available.

In response to these complaints, an enquiry was submitted to the municipality by Highvelder to gain clarity on several points.

The questions focused on the current status of the water supply, steps being taken to address broken infrastructure, and the municipality’s plans for repairing the damaged systems, if this was indeed the case.

Additional concerns included the availability of water trucks, billing practices during supply interruptions, and measures to ensure residents are not unfairly charged for water they did not receive.

The enquiry also sought information on the overall impact of low dam levels on the community.
