Sanral repairs damaged speed bumps in Ermelo

According to the municipal spokesperson, additional maintenance is planned for the national roads, too.

ERMELO – Following the article published by Highvelder on July 19, Dangers loom for Ermelo drivers dodging speed bumps, Sanral has intervened to repair damaged speed bumps.

Highvelder wished to alert motorists to the potential dangers posed by the damaged speed bumps.

Damaged speed bumps had exposed steel rods/anchors, posing significant risks to vehicles’ tyres.

The publication photographed the damaged speed bumps in De Emigratie Street between Ligbron Academy for Technology and Morgan Nissan, where they had been repositioned, leaving the sharp steel rods or anchors upright in the road.

In response to the community’s concerns, the Msukaligwa Local Municipality reported that SANRAL swiftly addressed the issue and made the necessary repairs to the damaged speed bumps.

Mandla Zwane, the municipal spokesperson, confirmed that the repairs were completed and additional maintenance is planned for the national roads passing through Ermelo.
