Animal cruelty in Ermelo said to be more frequent than people care to admit

ERMELO – The Ermelo True Rescue organisation for stray animals is in need of the community’s help to feed more than 17 dogs.

Ermelo True Rescue is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping abandoned or injured animals.

According to founder, Megan du Preez, they currently have about 17 dogs in various open fields that they have to care for.

“We need dog food and fuel to be able to take them to Bethal SPCA once we catch them. We want to say thank you very much for every donations from everyone, however, our vet’s account is still in arrears of R9 915.63.”

Du Preez told Highvelder that animal cruelty occurs more frequently in town than most people care to admit.
