Missing person identified as the victim in pedestrian accident

A missing person report was posted on May 14 on numerous social media platforms, after which the police received information that identified him as the deceased in the accident.

ERMELO – Buhle Collen Ngwenya (24), who was recently reported missing to the police station, was involved in a pedestrian accident and died on the scene.

According to Captain Carla Prinsloo, spokesperson for the Ermelo police, he was last seen on May 1 at about 17:00 outside Overland Liquor Store in town.

Prinsloo said the accident took place later the same day at about 21:00 on the Hendrina road near the Boxer Centre.

“According to the driver, a man ran over the road and he did not see him as it was dark,” Prinsloo said.
Prinsloo concluded that Ngwenya did not have any identification on him.
