VIDEO – Truck driver dies in accident 10 km outside Ermelo

The truck is reported to have veered off the road, crashing into trees and sustaining extensive damage after its tyre had allegedly burst.

ERMELO – A truck driver lost his life in an accident on May 16 when his truck was discovered along the N11 road, about 10 km outside Ermelo.

Captain Carla Prinsloo, spokesperson for Ermelo Police, said the initial investigation suggests a truck tire may have burst, causing the driver to lose control.

The truck then veered off the road, crashing into trees and sustaining extensive damage.

“The extent of the damage made it challenging to determine the number of individuals inside the truck initially,” Prinsloo explained. “However, pathologists later confirmed that the driver was the sole occupant.”
