Ligbron girls’ cricket team holds a lot of promise for the future
This team, under the leadership of their captain, Amelia Brummer, has had an incredible season to look back on.
Ligbron’s first girls’ cricket team competed against Noordheuwel High School from Krugersdorp for a place in the finals of the Noordvaal Cricket League on November 4,.
Noordheuwel proved to be the better team of the day, but Ligbron is proud of their girls, who played their best to the end and proved themselves to be worthy opponents.
They became Mpumalanga champions when they claimed victory against Generaal Hertzog High School of Witbank.
The team also competed against the giants from Gauteng: Marais Viljoen High School from Alberton, whom they beat in the quarter, and Noordheuwel.
This relatively young team is geared for a future of excellent cricket.
