[UPDATE] – Mother allegedly drops off boy (7) next to Breyten road and tells him to stay

The boy was confused and dirty when the authorities spoke to him. The social worker said that the boy comes from very poor living conditions

Highvelder reported about a young boy, aged seven, that was discovered in the vicinity of Eplazini along the Breyten road on Friday August 25.

The priority is to reunite him with his family as swiftly as possible.

The boy was under the care of the Ermelo Police Station. His parents did not come to fetch him on Friday and he was transferred to Thutuzela Hospital.

New information resurfaced of the boy’s condition, background and how he ended up along the Breyten road.

Jeanah Motsamai, from CMR, told Highvelder, that according to the boy, his mother picked him up from his father’s house in a settlement on the Hendrina road near Ermelo. She then dropped him off on the Breyten road, and told him to stay there.

At the hospital the boy could not recall much.

His aunt contacted authorities and confirmed that the boy lives with his father. Motsamai said that you could see in the photo that was taken for identification that the boy is living in very poor conditions.

His father recycles waste to make a living. The child has no birth certificate and his mother also does not have an identification document.
