Truck accident claims pedestrian’s life outside Ermelo

The road between Ermelo and Breyten has been temporarily closed after an accident claiming the life of a pedestrian.

A truck accident, also involving a Bantam bakkie, has occurred on the N17 just outside Ermelo on the Breyten road, resulting in the death of a pedestrian on August 29.

The incident took place about 6km from Ermelo near the Kralinbergh Guest House & Wedding Venue. As a result of the accident, there are significant traffic disruptions in the area.

Emergency services are currently present at the scene, including personnel from the pathology services, police, traffic department and towing services.

Motorists and commuters are advised to exercise caution and follow the instructions provided by the authorities at the scene.

The road has in the meanwhile been closed.
