As the weekend progressed, the wintry weather continued its journey northwards. On Sunday, the northern mountainous areas of the Eastern Cape, including the Drakensberg, were blanketed in a layer of white.
The mountainous areas near the Midlands in KwaZulu-Natal, such as Barkley East, also saw snowfall.
Snow has also been reported in parts of Gauteng and closer to Ermelo, in Standerton, Volksrust and Wakkerstroom.
