Armed robbers strike at local store in Ermelo

Four suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

ERMELO – Four suspects robbed The General Store at the Ermelo Centre and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money on July 23.

According to Captain Carla Prinsloo, the spokesperson for the Ermelo police, the suspects wore masks and entered the store at various intervals.

“One of them pointed a firearm at the employees behind the counter and demanded money from them,” Prinsloo said.

The suspects took two cellphones and a safe with an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

Prinsloo said the safe was not mounted to the floor.
