Mpumalanga Agriculture calls on SAPD to investigate incident that led to arrest of Ermelo farmer

He also thanked the local farmer’s association for their conduct amid the frustration they might have felt.

ERMELO – The executive manager of Mpumalanga Agriculture, Robert Davel, said they welcome the decision by the magistrates court in Ermelo, on July 26, to grant bail to one of its members, Louis Johannes Grobler (41), who was in custody since Friday July 15.

In a press release issued by Davel, he stated that Mpumalanga Agriculture is, however, disappointed with the noticeable delay of the bail process since, Monday 18 July.

“A deliberate delay of the legal process does not contribute to confidence in the legal system of South Africa,” he stated.

He also said they call on the SAPD for a proper and professional investigation into the incident which led to the arrest of their member.
