WESSELTON – Residents in Phumula enjoy the privilege of the Phelophepa Healthcare Train’s services with their mobile clinic at Thutukani Community Hall on June 30.

The mobile clinics were scheduled to rotate in the location while the main train was at the Ermelo Train Station from June 27 to July 1 and from July 4 to 8.

The train provided a range of treatments, including dental care, psychological counselling, breast and prostate examinations, Pap smears, Covid-19 vaccinations and booster doses.

According to Ward 17’s councillor, Sandile Cindi, locals, particularly the elderly, were delighted to find affordable medical care close by.

“I am happy to say we received great feedback from the residents regarding the mobile clinic services, However, some might have had transport problems and also having to travel to the venue so early in this cold weather,” Cindi said.

He added residents also commended Phelophepa Healthcare staff members for their politeness and for making sure that the queues moved quickly while providing various services.

“Since it is now the school holidays, some pupils in the community were also able to receive medical care. This is a great initiative, and we are grateful for the opportunity.”
