A man the youth of Wesselton can look up to

He has been giving motivational speeches and supporting young people for many years

WESSELTON – Sbusiso Mnisi-Masina (46) is well known in the area for his dedication to supporting youth and for giving motivational speeches to help steer them away from peer pressure.

This Department of Social Development’s assistant probation officer has spent the last 15 years providing programmes and interventions to help stop the social ills the community, particularly young people of Wesselton, experience.

Early intervention for young offenders, social behaviour change and awareness of gangsterism and substance addiction among children and families are just a few of the programmes Mnisi-Masina provides.

Due to his willingness to be there for them and his understanding of how they think, working with young people and giving motivational speeches are his two greatest passions in all of these programmes.

“The goal of my work, with full sincerity, is to inspire young people to pursue education as the path to a better life. There is no progress in one place, so I’m advising them to continue their education and look for greener pastures. They can participate in a variety of community development initiatives, but you cannot do that without a foundational level of education, which begins in primary school. I wish for young people to prosper,” Mnisi-Masina said.
