Two killed, 14 injured in taxi rollover on N17 near Ermelo
Two women and a ten-year-old girl were in a critical condition, while twelve others sustained minor to serious injuries.
ERMELO – Two people were killed and 14 others injured when a minibus taxi rolled over on the N17 on April 18, approximately 20km outside town.
“ER24 and other emergency services arrived on the scene at about 15:30 and found the taxi on its side next to the road. Several passengers were seen lying all around the vehicle,” Mr Russel Meiring, the spokesman for ER24, said in a media statement.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two women had sustained fatal injuries; they were declared dead.
Fourteen other patients, including several children, were attended to on the scene.

The patients were treated and provided with advanced life support before being transported to various hospitals for urgent care.
“This incident’s details are as yet unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” Mr Meiring concluded.
