Ermelo police members receive awards

According to Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman for Ermelo Police, the aim of the event was to give motivation and recognition to the team as well as to show members appreciation for efforts in serving the community.

ERMELO – Local police held a prestigious award ceremony at Ermelo Inn on April 13 which was aimed to honour members and show appreciation for their work.

The event was attended by Lieut Gen, Buti Lekubu, who represented the Mpumalanga police office of the provincial commissioner as the keynote speaker, as well as the local station commander, Col Sdumo Ngcobo, who handed the awards to the recipients.

Serg Mxolisi Nkosi received a merit award from the station commander, Sdumo Ngcobo, and an award for best policing member; Lieut Col Thulani Mndawe received a merit award from the station commander.

Capt. Carla Prinsloo, the spokesman for Ermelo Police, says the event was aimed at recognizing police members’ achievements as well as motivating the team and showing gratitude to them for their service to the community.

Warrant Officer Jolanda Mostert received a prestige award as the second runner-up for visible policing operational support member.

“We were looking to acknowledge and appreciate Ermelo police members for their good and prestigious work while motivating the upcoming group of young police officers so that they would be motivated to go the extra mile and help bring criminal activities to an end,” Capt Prinsloo explained.
