Carolina police recover stolen firearm after business robbery

His arrest came after the police in Chrissiesmeer had received information about a man’s suspicious behaviour.

CHRISSIESMEER – A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with a business robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition on March 25.

According to Brig Selvy Mohlala, a Mpumalanga police spokesman, a guest at a local guest house reported that a man had broken into his room.

“The suspect fled with a firearm, 10 rounds of ammunition and clothing,” Brig Mohlala said.

His arrest came after the police in Chrissiesmeer had received information about a man’s suspicious behaviour.

“It was reported that he had dug a hole in his room. The police searched his house and found the stolen items.”

The man was arrested and appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on March 28.

“It is said that the suspect is out on parole for housebreaking,” Brig Mohlala concluded.

Highvelder has sent media enquires to Const Patience Ngozo, the Chrissiesmeer police spokesman, regarding the court case, and awaits a response.
