Man arrested for burglary in Chrissiesmeer

He was found in possession of one of the chainsaws at a farm near Machadodorp, after which the police found the rest of the stolen items at his house.

CHRISSIESMEER – Mr Sibusiso Doctor Mthembu (32) from Breyten was arrested by the police for burglary on November 26.

According to Const Patience Zonke Ngozo, the spokesman for the Chrissiesmeer police, he broke into a house at the Goedeverwagting farm on November 11 and stole two chainsaws, a grass cutter, a drill and two compressors.

He was found in possession of one of the chainsaws at a farm near Machadodorp, after which the police found the rest of the stolen items at his house.

Mr Mthembu first appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on November 29 and the case was postponed to December 2 for formal bail application.

He was released on R1 000 bail and the case was postponed to January 25.
