Murderer who shot man in front of his eight-year-old son, sentenced to life

Mr Dludlu took his eight-year-old son and accompanied two of the suspects to the place where the vehicle which the suspects needed help with, was parked.

ERMELO – Breyten Magistrate’s Court sentenced Duncan Manlenkosi Ndlangamandla (36) to life imprisonment for murder on October 27.

According to Col Sdumo Ngcobo, the station commander for Ermelo police, he was also sentenced to five year’s imprisonment for conspiracy to commit murder and five years for the unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm.

“The sentences are to run concurrently,” he said.

He added the sentences emanated from the murder of Mr Welile Duncan Dludlu (38) in Thusivillage, Wesselton on October 15, 2020.

Ndlangamandla and two accomplices lured Mr Dludlu from his home pretending to need his assistance with the battery of a vehicle.

Mr Dludlu took his eight-year-old son and accompanied two of the suspects to the place where the vehicle, a BMW was parked.

“As they reached the vehicle, one of Nklangamandla’s accomplices, reached for a firearm and shot Mr Dludlu 15 times after which they fled the scene in the BMW.

“Mr Dludlu’s son went to a nearby house to request help for his father.

“Unfortunately Mr Dludlu died before receiving help,” Col Ngcobo said.

Nklangamandla’s two accomplices are still at large.
