The Mpumalanga Working On Fire (WoF) Warburton and Mayflower bases, expanded their teams after hopeful recruits underwent vigorous fitness tests at the respective bases on 23 July.
A total of 10 new recruits were selected and will undergo advanced firefighting training at Kishugu Training.
WoF actively contributes in the alleviation of unemployment in South African by employing young men and women from disadvantaged communities.
These men and women are trained to implement a range of integrated fire management products and services which includes fire management planning, fire detection, prevention, suppression and community fire awareness.

In recent days, the team of Piet Retief assisted the Mkhondo Fire Protection Association in containing a fire that was raging for a second day in their region while the Ermelo team assisted the
Msukaligwa Local Municipality in containing a fire on the Hendrina Road.
The Injaka team was also dispatched to assist in fighting a fire in their region.
