Carolina Police arrests two suspect in connection with murder of 49-year-old man

Ms Mtshweni was also arrested for defeating the ends of justice after allegedly withholding information about the stabbing.

Carolina Police arrested Mr Sibeko Hendry Molefe (49) on 30 April in connection with the murder of Mr Mhlongo Ncono (49).

According to Sgt Thabang Mokwana, spokesman for Carolina Police, Mr Ncono was transferred from Carolina Hospital to Witbank Hospital on 16 February 2016, after he was admitted with stab wounds.

“After Mr Ncono died in Witbank Hospital an inquest was opened and the case transferred to Carolina Police for investigation.”

Sgt Mokwana added that Mr Ncono was stabbed in the chest, during an argument about the suspect’s girlfriend, Ms Zanele Mtshweni (34).

Ms Mtshweni was also arrested for defeating the ends of justice after allegedly withholding information about the stabbing.

Both appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on 4 May, where Ms Mtshweni was released on bail.

The case against Mr Sibeko was postponed to 24 May for formal bail application.
