Msukaligwa Municipality reports first Covid-19 positive case

Protocols are in place to do contact tracing with the people who might have been in contact with the individual.

The Mpumalanga Department of Health recently released Covid-19 statistics which confirmed one positive case in the Gert Sibande region.

According to information, the person is said to be from Lothair.

Mpumalanga has, as of 4 May, had 53 positive cases with 22 recoveries.

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 0 cases
• Dipaliseng: 0 cases
• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 14 cases and 1 recovery
• Govan Mbeki: 1 case and 1 recovery
• Lekwa: 2 cases and 1 recovery
• Mkhondo: 0 cases
• Msukaligwa: 1 case.

The Department of Health announced that as of 5 May, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in South Africa is at 7 572.

A total of 268 064 tests have been conducted to date with 10 523 tests done in the past 24 hours.

 

There are 10 more Covid-19 related deaths: Seven from Western Cape, one from Eastern Cape, one from KwaZulu-Natal and one from Gauteng. This brings the total number of deaths nationally to 148.
