Easter weekend causes spike in total amount of arrests in Sheepmoor

The total amount of arrests carried out in Sheepmoore during the lockdown period is currently 39 of which one case was drug-related, six were arrests on alleged illegal immigrants and the rest were all contraventions of the Disaster Management Act.

Easter weekend saw an increase in crime and Sheepmoor Police arrested 13 people.

Sgt Thembelihle Mshayisa, the spokesman of Sheepmoor Police, said:“ All accused appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court and were granted R1 000 bail each.

They will appear in court again on 12 May.”
