Councillor and other stakeholders come to Carolina residents’ aid during 21-day lockdown

“Any donations will greatly help these people get through the difficult times that lie ahead.”

Cllr Simphiwe Nkosi from Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality together with other stakeholders in Carolina donated food parcels to those in need.

She said: “We have submitted our proposal for the food parcels to various stakeholders and was overwhelmed with the response.”

They distributed 150 food parcels in ward 15, 21 and 22.

Local councillors and ward committee members identified numerous child-headed families, families in need and an orphanage and disability centre that needed help.

Cllr Nkosi encourages anyone who would like to make additional donations to families in need, to contact her at 060 707 4828.
