Victim of farm attack between Ermelo and Lothair undergoes surgery

The Highvelder obtained information from Mr Henry Geldenhuys, farm coordinator and member of the Transvaal Agricultural Union of South Africa, that the man underwent surgery on his leg on 27 March.

A man was rushed to Unitas Hospital in Pretoria after he was shot in the leg during an attack on a farm between Ermelo and Lothair at about 6pm on 26 March.

The Highvelder obtained information from Mr Henry Geldenhuys, farm coordinator and member of the Transvaal Agricultural Union of South Africa, that the man underwent surgery on his leg on 27 March.

According to Mr Geldenhuys, the victim was shot in his femur above the knee.

After his attackers shot him, they fled.

The man got into his bakkie to look for help when he collided into the back of a truck.

Mr Geldenhuys, said: “At this stage, he is making good progress in hospital.

“There has been no progress in finding the suspects and no arrests have yet been made.”
