Sport Inn opened for homeless people during 21-day lockdown

Security guards will be at the facility to ensure that the people adhere to the regulations during the 21-day lockdown.

Msukaligwa Municipality has made the Sport Inn in Ermelo available as a temporary shelter for the homeless.

The Department of Health, Department of Social Services, Sassa, Msukaligwa Disaster Management, Ermelo Police and Ermelo CMR worked together on 26 March to ensure that the facility could house these people.

The two large halls and bathrooms were cleaned and ensured to be in a working condition.

Every person was screened to check their general state of health and was given a mattress and blanket, along with a parcel with some necessities.

They will receive three meals a day.
