Ermelo has been experiencing planned as well as unplanned power outages for over two months.
The Highvelder reported about residents recently taking matters into their own hands and protesting about numerous electricity and water interruptions.
Media enquiries were sent to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Municipality.

Mr Zwane said, “After loadshedding it takes about one hour to turn electrical switches back on in certain in some areas.”
He added, the rainy weather conditions also played a role in the delays.
“Illegal connections cause an overload on the network which in turn sees the power tripping, the demand exceeds the supply.”
