Why are advent calendars so popular?

These calendars are a popular tradition in most families.

Advent calendars are believed to be a long-standing tradition in many families, leading up to the excitement of the Christmas holiday and Christmas Day itself (December 25).

In today’s times, Advent calendars include paper doors that open to reveal an image, Bible verse, or piece of chocolate. It is said this tradition dates back all the way to the mid-19th century.

Advent calendars begin on December 1 and mark the 24 days before Christmas, the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas. Advent’s meaning is ‘Coming’, which is also translated as the coming of Jesus into the world.

Christians may use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent, preparing and remembering the real meaning of Christmas.

Many families are part of various different religions and they find pleasure in seeing what they consider is what they live by and believe in, every day, in a form of a calendar. Many calendars may feature the latest toys, beauty products and so much more.
