The Township Youth Transformation (TYT), working with various stakeholders in Ermelo, will host their annual Christmas party for vulnerable children of Wesselton at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium.
It is currently taking place and will continue until 3pm.
The organisers expected about 1 500 children from different backgrounds to attend the early Christmas party.
TYT’s Christmas event grew from 200 children in 2016 to an astonishing 1 000 children in 2018.
Mr Ayanda Nkosi, TYT chairman, said: “We can not make this possible without the help of the various stakeholders.”
TYT has also now involved child care centres, as they saw a high increase of children who are victims of rape and domestic violence.
The children will be treated to fun games, including jumping castles, music and dance competitions.
