Truckers block-off Havenga Road in Ermelo
According to Capt Kemp, “There was an issue with the trucks on 3 November however, police resolved the matter before it could escalate. ”
Truck drivers began protesting and blocked-off Havenga Road in Ermelo on 3 November.
All Truck Drivers Foundation (ATDF) members were protesting about foreign drivers being employed by various South African Road Freight Industries.
According to Mr Nickey Phyffer, from ACSU, truck drivers dispersed during the morning on 4 November.
“Everything is back to normal around town as far as the trucks are concerned.”
The Highvelder sent media inquiries to Capt Corné Kemp, acting spokesman from Ermelo Police Station.
