ACSU members nab cable thief in Ermelo

A suspect in connection with cable theft were handed over to Ermelo Police by members of ACSU on 1 October.

According to Mr Doctor Zwane, shift commander at ACSU, the arrest came after he and his colleague, Mr Johhanes Ngwenyama, were patrolling the industrial area near Devland.

They saw three men who were carrying bags, and stopped them.

Mr Zwane said: “They began running in different directions, but we managed to catch one of the three suspects.”

The suspect showed the members of ACSU where they cut the cable of a street light on the corner of Kleinhans and Taute Street.

ACSU contacted Ermelo Police.
