Baby Nkambule’s family struggle to deal with the trauma of identifying her body

“We could only identify her through her clothes and her nose piercing, as her face started to decompose.”

Identifying the body of their daughter was the hardest thing they ever had to do.
Ms Baby Goodness Nkambule’s body was found on 3 August near Kwamabuza Farm on the Breyten Road.
A resident who was collecting wood in the field, found her body under a pile of branches and informed the Ermelo Police.

According to her father, Mr Bheki Nkambule, they were informed on 4 August about the death of their daughter, and later met the police officers to identify her body.
They met with the investigating officer with disbelief that it was their daughter and clung to the last bit of hope that perhaps she was still alive.
