Lothair Police, Chrissiesmeer Police and the Tactical Response Team recovers seven stolen rifles

According to Const Bathobile Khumalo, spokeman for Lothair Police, the recovered items were stolen in March, during a house robbery at Damesfontein farm. She added that the value of the rifles are about R138 000.

Lothair Police, Chrissiesmeer Police and the Tactical Response Team (TRT) have recently recovered 10 firearms and arrested nine suspects in connection with two incidents in the area.

In a joint operation, members from Lothair and Chrissiesmeer Police recovered seven firearms, a flat screen television and a cell phone.

The suspects were arrested.

According to Const Bathobile Khumalo, spokeman for Lothair Police, said the recovered items were stolen in March during a house robbery at Damesfontein farm.

She added that the value of the rifles are about R138 000.

The police have followed information that led to the arrest of 35-year-old, Thabo Nkosi and two other suspects.

Nkosi appeared in Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on 19 July, where he was remanded in custody pending his bail application on 26 July.

The other two suspects will appear in Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on 22 July.

Further investigation led to the arrest of 75-year-old, Moses Nkosi and 50-year-old, Jerry Maseko in Badplaas.
Nkosi was release on R500 bail and Maseko was remanded in custody, pending his bail application on 22 July.
