Businessman in Breyten shot during armed robbery

“The owner manage to fire a shot at the robbers and two of the suspects fled the scene in a blue Polo Vivo,” said Sgt Mashegoane.

A local businessman was shot on Sunday, 5 May at about 8.30am at a local shop in Breyten.

According to Sergeant Thabo Mashegoane, the Breyten Police spokesman, four men entered the shop known as the Kafee in Breyten, and held the owner at gun point.

“The owner managed to fire a shot at the robbers and two of the suspects fled the scene in a blue Polo Vivo,” said Sgt Mashegoane.

Sgt Mashegoane told the Highvelder that the owner was shot during the robbery and taken to the hospital.

The remaining two suspects fled the scene on foot.
