MEC and Deputy Minister of Education officially hand over Wesselton Primary School

The state of the art Primary School was constructed through the Accelerated School Infrastructure Delivery Initiative ( ASIDI) and is consisting of a Computer Centre, adequate classrooms, two multi-purpose classrooms, science laboratory, three grade R classrooms, multipurpose hall, car parking bay, upgraded water reticulation system and electricity supply.

The Deputy Minister of Basic Education and the MEC for Education in Mpumalanga, officially handed over the Wesselton Primary School on 9 April.

The state of the art primary school was constructed through the Accelerated School Infrastructure Delivery Initiative (ASIDI).

The objective of ASIDI is to eradicate the Basic Safety Norms backlog in schools without water, sanitation and electricity and to replace these schools constructed from inappropriate material (mud and asbestos), to contribute towards levels of optimum learning and teaching.

Since its inception in 2011, the ASIDI Programme has built and delivered 216 state of the art schools across the country.
