Man caught with R8 000 worth of marijuana at Waverly Port of Entry

Police found, in his possession, 15 white transparent plastic bags wrapped with tape and filled with marijuana weighing at 8,36 kilograms with a street value of R8 000

A man was arrested and charged with dealing in marijuana at the Waverly Port-of-Entry near Mayflower on Sunday, 3 March.

It is alleged that the man was caught, around 2pm, driving a white Hyundai from Swaziland when police began searching his vehicle after getting permission from him.

“Police found, in his possession, 15 white transparent plastic bags wrapped with tape and filled with marijuana weighing 8.36kg with a street value of R8 000,” Const Tryphina Utla, Mayflower Police spokesman, said.

The suspect appeared in the Mayflower Periodical Court on Monday, 4 March.
