Put your e-waste to good use

The community of Ermelo will have the opportunity on 12 March and 13 March to bring their e-Waste to one of the following collection points; Pick-n-Pay centre or the parking area at the Civic Centre (Msukaligwa Municipality).

Electronic waste or e-Waste, is a term for electronic products that have become unwanted, non-working or obsolete, and have essentially reached the end of their useful life.

Because technology advances at such a high rate, many electronic devices become “trash” after a few short years of use.

The Department of Waste Management of the Msukaligwa Municipality are involved with the Dutch Reformed Church Debruinpark’s usual e-Waste project.

The community of Ermelo will have the opportunity on Tuesday, 12 March, and Wednesday, 13 March to bring their e-Waste to one of the following collection points; Pick-n-Pay centre or the parking area at the Civic Centre (Msukaligwa Municipality).

These collection points will be open from 9am to 4pm. From there it will be taken to an accredited recycling plant.

The community is encouraged to bring any old cell phones and chargers, telephones, computer equipment, printers, toners, radios, alarm systems, vacuum cleaners, irons or hair dryers.

Batteries and X-rays are also welcome.

Fluorescent lights and globes will not be collected.

If you have any transportation problems to deliver the equipment at the collection point, arrangements can be made by contacting 082 801 4114.
