The Kholiwe Foundation visits schools around Gert Sibande District to motivate girls

“Some of the children are suffering out here and they really showed a lot of excitement and appreciation from what we have given them this week regardless of how little it was.”

The Kholiwe Foundation are having a January tour called “It’s cool to school girl child tour”.

They are choosing schools randomly around the Chief Albert Luthuli district and Gert Sibande district where they motivate girls and donating sanitary towels.

The foundation is a non-profit organization that provides supportive community development to girls coming from disadvantage backgrounds so the youth can find their purpose in life and succeed in education.

It was established in 2016 by Ms Londiwe Sithole, who was 24-years-old at the time with a passion and love for helping the less fortunate.

“I do not have all I want, but I have all that I need, and I would love to help others with the little that I have,” Ms Sithole said.

She is originally from Mayflower, but grew up in Johannesburg.

“The life is so different from these two provinces. I grew up telling myself I will take all the good things I learn in Johannesburg and bring them back home. It is so lovely that I finally have the NGO to help other.”

She wishes to come back and donate uniforms and school bags to the children.

“Some of the children are suffering and they really showed a lot of excitement and appreciation from what we have given them this week regardless of how little it was.”

Ms Sithole shed tears when she received a message of appreciation from one of the learners saying that she made a difference in her life.
