Police divers from Ermelo and Middelburg recovered the body of a drowning victim on Tuesday, 22 January at about 3pm at the Petdam.
According to an eyewitness, he saw the man drown in the dam earlier the day and reported the incident to Ermelo Police.
Residents of Ermelo are questioning the fact that in the last few months two people drowned in the Petdam, however the dam is fenced to control the access to the dam.
The identity of the man is still unknown, and the police urge anyone with information regarding his identity to contact Const BP Masina at 017 819 2321 or 082 373 8389.
