UPDATE: Unplanned electricity interruption in certain parts of Ermelo
The power outages still persist with the municipality insisting it the abovementioned problems.
Msukaligwa Municipality’s residents endured periods of darkness during the festive season and beginning of January due to power outages.
The municipality noted and apologised for the outages siting various reasons for such, including multiple cable faults and theft.
An electricity interruption on 22 December was due to overgrown trees getting into contact with the overhead lines which caught fire and for the electricity to short circuit.
The power outages still persist with the municipality insisting it the abovementioned problems.
The outages are not only limited to Ermelo town, with Lothair and surrounding towns currently still experiencing the same problem.
“Msukaligwa Municipality would like to extend an unconditional and sincere apology for the recent prolonged, incessant electricity outages and the inconvenience thereof,” Mr Mandla Zwane, municipal spokesman, said.
