Gert Sibande District Municipality procures pothole patching truck as promised in State of the District Address

GSDM procured the promised pothole patching truck and invited stakeholders for a live demonstration of the pothole patching which took place in Ermelo on Oosthuize road on 25 October.

The Executive Mayor of Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM), Mr Muzi Chirwa, declared war on potholes and announced during the State of the District Address in May that a budget had been set aside for the procurement of a pothole patching truck to be used by all seven local municipalities.

Over the past months, the district has engaged on a number of activities aimed at supporting the local municipalities improve in their basic service delivery programmes.

These activities include the heavy fleet that GSDM bought which will mainly assist in the local municipalities.

The fleet includes the tipper truck, lowbed, water tanker, roller and a front loader.

GSDM procured the promised pothole patching truck and invited stakeholders for a live demonstration of the pothole patching procedure which took place in Ermelo on Oosthuizen street on 25 October.

Mr Muzi Chirwa and various leaders from the district and local municipalities welcomed the pothole patching truck and readily took part in a pothole repair demonstration.
