The final round of the South-Africa Rally lights up Ermelo

Richard Leeke and Elvene Vonk wins the Ermelo Rally by 0.7 seconds from Guy Botterill and Simon Vacy-Lyle.

The Ermelo National Rally was held at different stages around Ermelo from Thursday, 25 October to Saturday, 27 October.

This was the final round of the South-Africa Rally.

On Friday night, 26 October the rally drivers entertained the crowd with some spectacular driving during the night stage that took place in Church street.

Richard Leeke with his co-driver Elvene Vonk took the first place at the Ermelo Rally with a time of 1:49:36:0 and in the second place is Guy Botterill and his co-driver Simon Vace-Lyle with a time of 1:49:36:7.

In the third place was JJ Potgieter and his co-driver Tommy du Toit with a time of 1:51:21:3, followed by Marko Himmel and his co-driver Francois Schoombee with a time of 1:52:14:0 and in the fifth place was Tjaart Conradie and his co-driver Kes Naidoo 1:54:59:0.

The rest of results for the 2018 Ermelo National Rally is;

In the six place was AC Potgieter and Nico Swartz (1:55:26:7), followed by Matthew Vacy-Lyle and Matt Kohler (1:59:50:0), Jose Ferreira and Pierre Jordaan (2:00:43:9),Ettiene Malherbe and Rajwinder Jutley (2:11:04:6), George Smalberger and Carolyn Swan (2:12:09:7), Ashley Mackenzie and Les Mackenzie (2:19:20:1) and Lune Strydom and Edward Strydom (2:42:41:8).
